Five rounds, two little ways to think

Two Tiny Pattern Challenges is a free, untimed browser learning game. Each mode generates a fresh set of five questions, keeps a local score, and explains the answer after every choice. There are no accounts, advertisements, payments, or online leaderboards inside the game.

Find the middle

Five fictional timings appear in a scrambled order. Choose the median: the third value after sorting, with two numbers on each side. The numbers are generated for a sorting puzzle; this mode does not measure reaction speed or provide medical reference values.

Finish the chain

A tail of descending powers of two appears with a target tile. Pick the next number that starts a chain of end-only merges. After your choice, the game shows every merge step and, for an incorrect choice, the sequence it would leave behind.

Controls and access

Click or tap the answer buttons. Keyboard users can Tab between controls and press Enter or Space. There is no time limit. Switch modes to start a new set, or replay after the result screen. The layout adapts to small screens and can scroll inside the embedded player.

Explore the ideas further

The Reaction Time Test records real visual cue responses in the browser. Retain all the rounds and input method when comparing sessions; the middle-value challenge here is a separate arithmetic exercise.

The Mergecoil puzzle at Snake 2048 adds steering and collision decisions to the tail-merging idea. Select Mergecoil for this rule; the site's Arena is a separate game. A correct number sequence does not by itself guarantee a safe route.

Creation notes

Original code and explanatory text were created with generative AI assistance for this project. The game uses native HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, no third-party game assets, and no external libraries. Scores stay in memory and reset when the page is reloaded.
